About Dhee Ayn Heritage Village

Dhee Ayn Heritage Village stands proudly atop a white rocky mountain in the Tihama district of the Al-Baha region, surrounded by towering mountain heights. Located about 25 kilometers from the center of Al-Baha city, the village is considered one of the most important heritage villages on the Arabian Peninsula, with a history dating back to the 10th century Hijri.

Dhee Ayn, whose name derives from the spring ("ayn") that flows through it from the surrounding mountains, comprises more than 30 houses built in a tightly interlocked, stacked arrangement that reflects adaptation to the rugged mountainous terrain. These houses, which appear from the outside like a single fortress, were built with uniform volcanic stone that provides strength and cohesion, while clay and mudbrick were used inside the buildings.
