Saudi Arabia has launched the AI Media Center, the first of its kind in the Middle East, as part of the third edition of the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh. The launch comes through cooperation between the Ministry of Media and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), with Saudi Media Minister Salman Al-Dosari and SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi jointly inaugurating the center, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to leading technology and innovation in the media field.

The Center's Goals and Role in Media Development

The center aims to harness generative artificial intelligence in media to drive innovation in content production and develop a competitive environment in the media sector, helping to raise the standard of media practice and enrich digital content through advanced methods. The center keeps pace with the latest developments in artificial intelligence, enabling the Kingdom to build indicators for the responsible use of data and AI technologies in media, in addition to cooperating with specialized global institutions to support joint projects between universities and technology companies to advance research in this field.

"The Future of Generative AI in Media" Bootcamp

Alongside the center's launch, the "Future of Generative AI in Media" bootcamp was also unveiled, targeting editors-in-chief, media directors and media practitioners, with the aim of upgrading their skills and equipping them with the knowledge needed to harness artificial intelligence in content production. The bootcamp covers topics such as generative AI tools in media, their impact on the future of the industry, and the ethical considerations associated with using these technologies.

Strengthening Integration Between the Ministry of Media and SDAIA

Through this center, the Ministry of Media and SDAIA aim to achieve integration between the two sectors' services to support digital transformation, reflecting Saudi Vision 2030's goal of making the Kingdom an influential hub in artificial intelligence and advanced media.
