Jeddah Yacht Club welcomed the historic Italian tall ship Amerigo Vespucci, which impressed thousands of visitors during its stop in Jeddah from January 27 to 30, as part of its round-the-world tour aimed at showcasing Italian cultural identity and promoting the values of maritime sustainability.

A Rich Cultural Experience

Visitors of different nationalities and ages described their visit to the ship as an exceptional experience. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said he was delighted to visit the ship, calling it a cultural bridge between the peoples of Saudi Arabia and Italy. Italian visitor Maria Rossi noted that the ship represents a maritime legacy for her country, praising the warm welcome the crew received in Jeddah.

Antonio Desimone, a member of the ship's crew, said: "Jeddah is a city that combines modernity and heritage, and we felt at home here, thanks to the enthusiasm of visitors and their interest in the ship's history." Noha Al-Harbi described her visit as an opportunity to introduce her children to new cultures in an educational and entertaining way.

Gilda Ortega from the Philippines considered her visit to the ship a wonderful opportunity to explore Italy's maritime heritage, while Mohammed Ashraf from India expressed his admiration for the reception, reflecting the ship's importance as a symbol of cultural exchange.

The Amerigo Vespucci is one of the oldest and most famous Italian tall ships, built in 1930 and now serving as a training vessel for the Italian Navy.
