About Hafar Al-Batin

Hafar Al-Batin is a governorate of the Eastern Province on Wadi Al-Batin near the Kuwaiti border, home to about 410,000 people according to the 2022 census. It is nicknamed the "capital of spring" for its mild weather in that season, which draws visitors to wildland parks such as Rabee Al-Sadawi Park. Its economy rests on trade, agriculture and livestock; it is known for camel markets and auctions and a falconry heritage, and hosts King Khalid Military City and the University of Hafr Al Batin. Its annual calendar includes the Falcon Festival in November, the Al-Saeerah Camel Auction in October, the Hafar Al-Batin Investment Forum in January, the university's scientific conferences, and the spring and farm-produce festivals organised by the municipality at King Salman Park on Kuwait Road.
